The Orlando Firefighters Peer Support Team is a proud program of the Benevolent Association, dedicated to promoting the mental health, wellness, and resilience of our firefighters and their families.
The team's mission is to provide compassionate support through active listening, guidance, referrals, and peer-to-peer assistance during times of personal crisis, job-related stress, or following critical incidents. Peer Support Team members serve as trusted colleagues who offer understanding and encouragement while helping connect individuals with professional resources when needed. Their role is not to replace licensed mental health professionals, but to provide support and assist in facilitating the healing process.

The OFFBA proudly funds the Peer Support Team's ongoing education, specialized training, classes, and team-building events. This investment ensures team members remain equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to provide effective support to firefighters and their families.

In addition to serving members of the Orlando Fire Department, the Peer Support Team also responds throughout the State of Florida to assist other fire departments following critical incidents, ensuring that firefighters across the state have access to the support they need during some of the most challenging moments of their careers.
