Each year, we present this prestigious award to an individual who exemplifies extraordinary generosity, kindness, and selflessness in service to others. Given the remarkable character and commitment of the members of the Orlando Fire Department, there are always numerous deserving nominations. Each year, firefighters go above and beyond in their neighborhoods and throughout our community, performing exceptional acts that reflect the very best of our profession.
The OFFBA Executive Board of Directors is faced with the difficult task of selecting just one recipient from so many worthy candidates. While that decision is never easy, it is a testament to the compassion, dedication, and servant-hearted nature of the men and women who wear this badge. It is our distinct honor and privilege to recognize one outstanding individual with the OFFBA Benevolence Award for Giving Back to the Community, an award that celebrates those whose actions remind us that being a firefighter extends far beyond answering emergency calls.
